WATCH THE VIDEO OF THE COMPLETE ACTIVITY
⚠️ This material is an adapted English Language activity designed to teach the Future Continuous in a visual, bilingual, progressive, and accessible way.
Visual and bilingual summary + 6 adapted questions + complete answer key, distributed across 3 activity pages.
The sequence begins by recognizing the Future Continuous in a contextualized situation, moves on to organizing its structure, explores the rules for forming -ING, progresses to building a complete sentence, distinguishes between affirmative and negative forms, and finishes by transforming a sentence into the interrogative form.
The material can be used in middle school and high school, according to the student's curriculum adaptation needs. The material presents the Future Continuous within the thematic unit Grammatical Knowledge and includes English Language skills related to both educational levels.
It may especially support students with mild to moderate Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and ADHD, as well as students who experience difficulties with reading and comprehension in English, writing and sentence organization, or abstraction and grammar learning.
It can also support English Language teachers, general education teachers, support professionals, and Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) teachers.

The activity presents the Future Continuous as a verb tense used to describe an action that will be in progress at a specific time in the future. The summary uses the example “I will be studying at 8 p.m.”, accompanied by the Portuguese translation “Eu estarei estudando às 20h.”
The three main structures are also covered:
Affirmative: Subject + WILL BE + verb-ING
Negative: Subject + WILL NOT BE + verb-ING
Interrogative: WILL + subject + BE + verb-ING?
The material also introduces WON'T = WILL NOT and explores different rules for forming the -ING form, using examples such as WATCH → WATCHING, MAKE → MAKING, LIE → LYING, and RUN → RUNNING.
The material begins with a visual and bilingual summary, allowing students to first understand the meaning of the Future Continuous and then observe its grammatical organization. The affirmative, negative, and interrogative structures are presented in separate visual blocks, making them easier to compare.
In the first question, students observe a situation in which it is 8 p.m. tomorrow and Pedro will be studying. Based on this context, they choose the correct sentence from four alternatives: “Pedro will be studying at 8 p.m.” In this way, the verb tense is introduced through a concrete situation before isolated grammatical rules are assessed.
In the second question, students receive four cards — VERB (-ING), SUBJECT, BE, and WILL — and arrange them in the correct order to form the Future Continuous structure. The answer key presents SUBJECT + WILL + BE + VERB (-ING).
The third question revisits the rules introduced in the summary. Students match the verbs WATCH, MAKE, LIE, and RUN with the forms WATCHING, MAKING, LYING, and RUNNING, exploring different ways of adding -ING.
In the fourth question, the cards TOMORROW – I – BE – STUDYING – WILL must be arranged to form the sentence corresponding to “Eu estarei estudando amanhã.” The correct answer is “I will be studying tomorrow.” This strategy allows students to practice word order without requiring them to recall every word independently.
Next, students classify four sentences as Affirmative or Negative, focusing mainly on the presence of will be, won't be, and will not be.
Finally, the activity presents “You will be using the car.” and asks students to transform it into a question. From four alternatives, they identify “Will you be using the car?”, reinforcing the specific word order of the interrogative structure.
